The DIPHASIC system is designed to mix air and water to generate a mist containing over 1.5 billion micro-droplets per litre, which is projected at very high speeds.
The DIPHASIC mist helps:
· significantly reduce thermal and toxic exposure
· stabilise fire behaviour (flashover, backdraft)
· improve crew safety during advancement
· rapid cooling of smoke and hot gases
· ability to reach the fire without a direct line of sight
· improved visibility within compartments
The objective is no longer to increase flow rate, but to maximise the effectiveness of every litre used.
Managing limited water resources
· The system allows crews to operate with significantly lower flow rates.
· In some configurations, water usage can be reduced by 4 to 6 times, while maintaining operational effectiveness
Property Conservation: Reducing Collateral Damage
· Prevents Ceiling Collapse : water weight loading on compromised structural components
· Minimises Flooding : Less water runoff damage in multi-family and commercial structures
· Lowers Restoration Costs : Decreased overhaul damage and faster property recovery
· Community Impact : Reduced displacement duration and insurance loss metrics
The system also allows crews to operate with significantly lower flow rates.
· In some configurations, water usage can be reduced by 4 to 6 times, while maintaining operational effectiveness
Where it makes the biggest difference
The system shows strong relevance in specific scenarios:
· structural fires
· confined environments
· underground parking fires
· remote areas with limited water supply
· navy and airport-related activities
In these conditions, the mist’s ability to move through volumes and rapidly cool smoke is a major operational advantage
A technology developed by and with firefighters
The DIPHASIC system was developed through close collaboration with the Paris Fire Brigade and several fire departments, combining real-scale testing and scientific validation
Operational deployment has been ongoing since 2023.
A complementary tool — not a replacement
“DIPHASIC system does not replace existing firefighting techniques — it adds another tool, suited to specific operational situations.”
· Additional Tool : Another option in your tactical arsenal for specific fire conditions
· Complementary Tactic : Works alongside existing equipment and proven methods
· Crew Decision Flexibility : Gives firefighters more choices based on fire behaviour and conditions in the community.
