- Fire Middle East Conference 2026 will take place in Riyadh on 30 November.
- Confirmed speakers include fire and life-safety specialists from Diriyah Company, UL Solutions, ESL and Aman International Engineering Consultancy.
- The programme will examine airport safety, performance-based design, data centre protection and emergency response.
The conference will take place at the voco Hotel in Riyadh on 30 November, with speakers from across the region expected to share perspectives on fire engineering, regulation, compliance and emergency response.
Among the confirmed speakers is Yaser Mohammed, FLS Design Manager at Diriyah Company. Mohammed has more than 11 years’ experience in fire protection engineering and has previously worked on fire safety design reviews, audits, risk assessments and system inspections at King Abdullah Financial District and Bureau Veritas.
The programme will also feature Vivek Vijay, Certification Specialist at ESL, who brings more than 15 years’ experience across fire protection and life-safety projects in India and the Middle East. His work has included design review, inspection and certification across projects including airports, warehouses, factories and high-rise buildings.
Ghaith Bakir, Senior Regulatory Engineer at UL Solutions, will bring a regulatory perspective, with his work covering codes, standards and product acceptance issues across the Middle East and Africa.
Basheer Yousef, Fire and Life Safety Team Lead at Aman International Engineering Consultancy, will add a fire engineering perspective. A Chartered Fire Engineer, Yousef has more than 16 years’ international experience and specialises in fire and smoke modelling, evacuation analysis and performance-based fire strategy for complex developments.
The conference programme reflects the changing demands being placed on fire and life-safety professionals, with four key areas highlighted for discussion.
These include the fire and life-safety challenges of modern airports, where large and complex environments can present particular challenges for evacuation and emergency response. The programme will also examine performance-based versus prescriptive fire safety design, an increasingly important issue as engineers address buildings and developments that may not fit straightforward prescriptive approaches.
The protection of critical infrastructure, including data centres, will form another key theme, alongside emergency response in the cities of the future and how response strategies may need to evolve as urban environments become more connected and complex.
The conference will also include dedicated networking areas and an updated conference app, with more than 400 attendees from government, enterprise and critical infrastructure organisations anticipated to attend.
