Rosenbauer and MAN debuted a brand new product at INTERSCHUTZ 2026.

Rosenbauer presented its L32A-XS electric aerial ladder on MAN’s recently introduced eTGM chassis.

With a total weight of less than 16 tonnes and a rear axle load of less than 10 tonnes, the vehicle falls below the weight limits applicable to fire department access areas in Germany for the first time and complies with the relevant performance standards DIN EN 14043 and E DIN 14701-2 for aerial ladders in class 23/12.

“By mounting the L32A-XS electric on MAN’s all-electric eTGM chassis, we’ve done what no other supplier has managed to do before. We manufacture what is currently the world’s lightest aerial ladder vehicle on a battery-powered electric chassis. It combines Rosenbauer’s proven aerial ladder technology with the benefits of emission-free and very quiet operation. The vehicle is particularly suitable for use in urban areas and for applications at airports, in plant fire departments and in the training sector – even for use indoors,” said Andreas Zeller, Chief Sales Officer at Rosenbauer International AG.

“The modular battery concept of our electric trucks means we can cover all weight requirements from 12 to 50 tonnes. Our new MAN eTGM is ideal for body solutions up to 16 tonnes. It is therefore the ideal combination for this fully electric aerial ladder vehicle, which meets all relevant firefighting standards. We’re very proud to be taking this major step in electrifying firefighting vehicles together with Rosenbauer,” said Friedrich Baumann, member of the Executive Board and head of Sales & Customer Solutions at MAN Truck & Bus.

“We are consistently expanding the use of electric technologies in our training to ensure that we have as much experience available to us as possible. After purchasing an electric HLF from Rosenbauer, we acquired this electric aerial ladder, which means we now have another battery-powered electric vehicle weighing under 16 tonnes at our disposal for our training operations. This is another milestone on the path towards fully electric firefighting services,” said Marcel Völkert from the North Rhine-Westphalia Fire Department Institute.
