Government programmes and security initiatives led by the Ministry of Interior have played a major role in improving the quality of life in Saudi Arabia, according to an expert, scoring 99 per cent in tech security.
Speaking to Al-Eqtisadiah, Khalid Al-Bakr, Chief Executive of the Quality of Life Program, said the initiatives have helped generate high-quality data that supports better planning and enables faster responses to incidents, placing the Kingdom in the global spotlight.
He told Arab News the Unified Security Operations Centres 911 in Riyadh, the Eastern Province, Madinah and Makkah are among the programme’s key projects delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Interior, explaining how the centres produce data that supports development plans and ensures rapid responses to emergencies.
Al-Bakr added that advanced technology has been integrated into security operations, including the use of body-worn cameras by security personnel. He said this has helped maintain high levels of public safety across the country.
He noted that reports of violations or crimes made through the 911 system receive an average response time of just two seconds. He described this as a major technological step that benefits both residents and visitors and strengthens trust in security services.
Al-Bakr said Saudi Arabia ranks among the world’s leading countries in security technology, with a 99 per cent rating. He added that the Kingdom is a global leader in using advanced security systems to serve the public, making it an attractive place to live and visit.
He also pointed to a wider digital transformation within the Ministry of Interior. Services such as passport and national ID renewals can now be completed more quickly and conveniently, often online, which he said has had a clear positive impact on quality of life.
